Liverpool continue to deal with the aftermath of a heated exchange between Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp during the weekend match against West Ham.

Since returning from injury in February, Salah has struggled with form, possibly experiencing the most challenging period of his Liverpool career so far.

As a result, Klopp benched him for the trip to West Ham, a decision that did not sit well with the Egyptian forward.

The confrontation has sparked various reactions, with Jamie Carragher and others weighing in.

Darren Bent, a former teammate of Jordan Henderson at Sunderland, shared a story on TalkSPORT about what Henderson told him regarding Salah's professionalism.

Henderson, who spent eight years as Liverpool's captain before leaving last summer, is well-positioned to discuss Salah's attitude.

According to Bent, Henderson described Salah as "the most professional person you could ever meet," emphasising that the Egyptian forward is highly dedicated to his craft.

Bent relayed that Henderson never mentioned any issues with Salah's attitude or professionalism. In fact, he suggested that Salah's displeasure at not playing is a testament to his competitiveness and drive. "Even Salah on a bad day, I’d still pick him," Bent quoted Henderson as saying.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are not overly concerned about the incident between Salah and Klopp, viewing it as a natural consequence of frustrations boiling over during a challenging time.

The Athletic's David Ornstein reported that the Reds see it as a minor issue that will be resolved quickly.

With only three games left in Klopp's tenure at Liverpool, it's essential for Salah and Klopp to move past this disagreement.

Given their significant roles in each other's careers, they are expected to resolve any differences and continue to work together professionally.

How the West Ham spat impacts Salah's future

Just as David Ornstein said that Liverpool aren't overly fussed with the incident and have likely already moved on, the club is actually ready to make moves to keep Salah at the club for longer than his current contract.

The best news we've received recently was the news that Liverpool are planning on holding talks with Salah when the season ends.

According to David Ornstein of the Athletic, Liverpool "expect Mohamed Salah to stay."

Talks will be held by FSG with the likes of Salah, van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold by incoming Sporting Director Richard Hughes.

His current contract expires in June 2025 so extending his contract now would be well-timed, indeed.
